Kites Children’s Therapy is proud to be the new home of the Activ Learning and Discovery Centre (ALDC) toy library from January 2020. Kites Toybox connects families with toys, resources and information to support play and development.

Our service provides toys and resources under an exciting new service model. We pair resources with individual parent coaching sessions and inclusive playgroups across Western Australia.

Kites Toybox will travel to playgroups and parent sessions as a visiting service, staffed by allied health professionals and students. Items are also available for loan and pickup from the library.

Opening Hours

Our new toy library service is open 9:00am – 5:00pm Monday to Friday and is located at 16 Sunbury Road in Victoria Park. Our centre is easily accessible by train and public transport, with parking available on site.

We have new dedicated drop-in hours on Tuesday and Thursday 9:30am – 12:30pm for families to come borrow and return toys without an appointment. Appointments outside of these times can be made by contacting our team via phone (08) 9311 8222 or email toybox@kitestherapy.org.au

Terms and Conditions

Membership
Annual Memberships are available for families and professionals.

Reservations
Items may be reserved via the online catalogue. Members will receive notifications via email once reserved items become available. Once they are notified members have two weeks to collect the item.

General
* Please take good care of all items. Any damages to resources incurred during the loan period must be brought to the attention of Kites ToyBox staff upon return of the item.

*If resources are found to be damaged at the time of borrowing, please notify staff within 10 days of the loan. A replacement cost charge may be issued for items that are lost or damaged.

* Clean items with suitable detergent and disinfectant prior to returning them.

* These toys are your responsibility. Please do not share resources outside of your home.

* Members will not be permitted to borrow items if they have outstanding charges or overdue items on loan.

* Members are required to supply and remove batteries as necessary with the exception of some of the aided language and switch adapted devices, which have battery cases that are difficult to access.

NDIS
If you have NDIS funding Kites ToyBox will claim from the NDIS or invoice you within one month of the service delivered. We will submit final payment requests no later than 30 days from the end of your Service Booking. Kites ToyBox will only claim for a support once delivered.

The team at Kites ToyBox are committed to providing you with high quality services that meet your needs. We encourage and appreciate your feedback about our services.

Supervision
Kites ToyBox staff are available to provide support in the selection of toys, resources, and information. It is the member’s responsibility to ensure adequate supervision is provided at the premises and with items loaned, and that items selected are suitable. Specific advice regarding the use of resources for your child’s individual needs should be discussed with your child’s therapy team or teacher.

Responsibility
The member (both in your personal capacity and on behalf of your child) assumes all of the risks associated with use of the toys to the maximum extent possible at law and agrees to release, hold harmless, and indemnify Kites ToyBox against all actions, claims, suits, costs, expenses, demands, and damages whatsoever arising out of, or caused by, your use of Kites ToyBox toys.
